    ClickSend Frequently Asked Questions

    Question: What is ClickSend?

Answer: The ClickSend team brings you a global leader in business communication solutions. We are passionate about technology and committed to providing quality support, service reliability, industry experience and technical expertise for all of your messaging needs. We know that every company is different but we can’t wait to help! Our head office is located in Perth Australia where our headquarters reside with offices around the globe including America’s Silicon Valley- San Francisco Bay Area made up of teams who love what they do as well as employees covering Europe from London down into Spain on their way back home across Asia Pacific through cities such as Sydney or Auckland jumping over Japan before heading off towards Singapore stopping by New Zealand then finally coming full circle back home again landing at Perth Australian Headquarters which has been operating since 2013.

Question: How long does it take for letters to be delivered via the post?

Answer: We deliver to all countries globally via our print and post centres. Mail items are put into the normal mail system for each country. We currently have these regional offices: Asia Pacific (Australia), USA, Europe (UK). Letters can be posted either as a regular letter or with priority/express delivery options available depending on your needs; if you would like us to speed up shipping of letters from Australia just let us know - we’ll look at setting up an office in this region closer to home!

Question: How many characters can I send in an SMS?

Answer: A standard text message has a maximum of 160 characters. But, you can send longer messages! The problem is that if your long message exceeds the character limit then it will be sent as multiple texts and not all in one single text like before. This means instead of being charged for just 1 text they are now charged per each part - which creates more charges than anticipated! The total SMS limit becomes 153 characters because there are 7 invisible headers with footers at the end to distinguish between parts (i.e Part 1 out of 2)

Question: How does inbound MMS work?

Answer: Inbound MMS shares the same rules/settings as SMS. Any attachments will be converted to a URL which you can open, and view any images that have been uploaded! Inbound messages from an MMS number will appear in your message history just like normal text messages would, however the link will expire after 7 days. If you want some privacy for these kind of conversations, then purchase yourself one of our dedicated numbers so only those with the right code know how to reach you on it’s private shortcode.

Question: What’s the difference between transactional email and email marketing?

Answer: There are two ways to send emails using our platform: API, or SMTP. The difference between the two is that when a campaign is sent out through API it comes with an Opt-Out button (which can be disabled), and what happens after you press ‘Send’ on your email will vary based on how the bounce rate has been set up in response rules; while if sending via SMTP there’s no way for someone to opt out of receiving future mailings from Transactional Email - but bounces do not auto end up back at you like they would come with ACTIVE Campaigns and templates built inside our editor.

Question: Soft Bounce vs Hard Bounce

Answer: It’s common for your emails to get soft bounces, but there are a few reasons why that might happen. The most likely ones would be the following: A server is unavailable or it’s down, The server is overloaded and can’t accept any more messages just now, The recipient’s mailbox is full or the message size is just too large. We’ll try again 3 times to send the message and if it still bounces it would be classed as a hard bounce. Did you know that a hard bounce is more permanent? In terms of ClickSend, 1 hard bounce removes the subscriber from the list. There are several reasons why an email would hard bounce: it may be because they no longer use their address, but overall it is a permanent rejection.

Question: How many pages can I send in a postal letter?

Answer: The most sheets you can print out in one go is 120 pages of duplex (double sided) or 60 simplex (single sided).
