Dashly Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What is Dashly?

Answer: Dashly makes it easier for businesses to engage with visitors on their websites and mobile apps. They offer live chat, call scheduling, video conferencing and more. The Dashly team has put together a comprehensive list of features including proactive messaging bots which will pop up if an agent is unavailable when someone needs help; this way they’ll never miss another opportunity again! With lead generation tools like email marketing qualified leads are collected automatically by eCRM software before being segmented into specific categories where business owners have full control over how messages should be sent at what time.

Question: How does segmentation help?

Answer: Different people visit your website for different reasons, so you’ll need to reach them in an effective way. Segmentation helps make this possible because it lets you identify and target any group of leads based on their events or properties. To get started with segmenting your visitors go into the ‘Visitors’ section of Dashly’s Lead database (left sidebar). There are several default segments there that should suit a lot of needs like ‘Has Name’ or ‘Has Email’. Click on those labels to see all contacts who match these filters!

Question: How can I import users to Dashly?

Answer: There are two ways of importing your lead database to Dashly: via the Dashly interface or via Rest API. Before you import any data, please make sure that these two things have been done by following our step-by-step guide. 1. Check your unique visitors quota on the ‘Subscription’ tab in order to ensure that imported users don’t exceed it - they will be counted towards this number! 2. Prevalidate all email addresses before uploading them with a tool such as Email Address Validation Toolkit.

Question: Can I export data from Dashly?

Answer: It’s time to export your leads! Select the lead segment you would like exported and then click Export Leads. After clicking, Dashly will send an email with a .csv attachment that contains all of the selected files in it. You can find this file under notifications or in your email inbox.

Question: What can I use my own user card for and where do I find it??

Answer: Did you know that your user card can come in handy for setting up data collection, triggered messages and email campaigns? To find it the easiest way is to send a chat message to our Dashly Chat widget. Your conversation will appear on the Conversations section of your website so you can easily locate your user card there too if you’re online at this time. You’ll be able to use your location or Session started event properties as identifiers!

Question: What is an event?

Answer: Lead events allow you to create an analytics, marketing and lead segmentation. These are actions done by leads on your website or in your product that can be recorded so you know how many of them have been completed for future reference. By default Dashly has 4 basic lead events: page visited; scrolling to the bottom of the page; clicked on the element; input field filled with data. You will find any number of additional custom generated actions at a later point when using this system such as item viewed, started checkout process, left intent not matched etc., which means it’s never too late! All these event types can be configured via Dashly - they’re fun yet simple enough even for beginners.

Question: How can I create an event?

Answer: You can create an event in different ways. You can configure basic events (page visited, scrolled to the bottom, clicked on a product) via Tracking master without any involvement of programmers. To plug-in modules Dashly has several for online shops which will collect these types of data automatically after setting it up correctly and that too with no help from developers or IT teams involved! Via API is the most flexible way but requires developer’s assistance. JS comes as a good option since you don’t need to get anyone’s permission before using its many features like flexibility yet still not requiring programming skills; however one disadvantage being your website needs some technical knowhow if used this method
