Benchmark Email Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What does Benchmark do?

Answer: Benchmark Email is an easy to use tool that helps you keep up with your day-to-day email needs so you can focus on building relationships, accelerating business and raising the bar.

Question: How do I add my organization’s information?

Answer: On January 1, 2004, the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 went into effect. One requirement is that all email communications include the physical address of sender which should be a mailing address for your business and can include P.O. Boxes. To update this in your Benchmark account: first log on to your Benchmark account from the dashboard and click Account Settings. In the Organization Information section make sure name, domain and postal address are added.

Question: How do I change my timezone?

Answer: By default, Benchmark sets all accounts to the ‘Greenwich Mean Time Zone’, and your campaigns will be scheduled using this timezone. If that’s not a zone you want to use, don’t panic: There is an easy way to update it. To change your time zone settings: first log in into your Benchmark account; from there click on Account Settings under Profile Info from the top right corner of dashboard page; then select Email Message Settings section below General tab (scroll down); choose which country/timezone should be used for setting email delivery dates & times by clicking on corresponding dropdown menu at bottom of window next to Greenwich Mean+0000 textbox and choosing desired one.

Question: How do I write an effective subject line?

Answer: What do you want to say in your email? This is a question that often gets overlooked when marketing. You might have the best content for what it offers, but if no one opens up and sees that offer then they’re going to miss out on all of those wonderful benefits! One small key can boost deliverability rates: The subject line of your email should be as short yet intriguing as possible. Ideally an enticing headline will get recipients opening their emails so they don’t land in spam folders or are deleted before being opened at all because long titles make them seem like junk mail rather than something worth reading. You might have to try a few different marketing tactics until you find the ones that work for your audience. So, experiment and see which email strategy is best by comparing what works against others in terms of open rates! Over time it’ll be clear when there’s an improvement- but don’t get discouraged if not all strategies work; this just means you need more research into figuring out who your customers are before thinking about how to target them specifically.

Question: How can I improve my email delivery?

Answer: Great email delivery is one of the most important parts of a successful email campaign. In the long run, it will not only save you money and time but increase your audience and ultimately boost your sales. At Benchmark, we go the extra mile to make sure you have excellent deliverability rates that are constantly adjusted based on any roadblocks clients put in place-but did you know there are things YOU can do as an email marketer so that YOUR messages get delivered? Sending reputation is THE biggest part about managing emails because they’re incredibly useful for boosting revenue both now AND down the line! With great delivery comes success which means our team at Benchmark goes out of their way to help ensure stellar results from start TO finish. We always recommend sending from a private domain rather than a public one. Adding a CNAME to your DKIM is the next thing you should do when you use a 3rd party to send your emails. You should also slow down on your sending as often ISPs set a threshold for how many emails you can send in one session.
